The number of answers to ‘What is strategy?’ will depend on the number of people you ask. The mystery and mystique surrounding strategy and strategic planning is underscored by the vast amount of literature written on the subject, and the wide variety of definitions and approaches they reflect. This Criticaleye Strategy Lunch, hosted by Nicky Bicket, Managing Director of the Strategic Thinking Group, will explore why companies routinely abdicate this responsibility for strategic planning to consultants who don't know the business, ignoring the abundance of strategic information held by their own highly capable and informed people, and then disregard external advice anyway. The event is also designed to provide attendees with a practical description of strategy and an understanding of how all other elements of the business are aligned to strategy.
9 September 2010 - 12:00 - 15:00
David Turner
Customer service is vital in the sphere of modern business. Often providing exceptional service is the only dividing factor between two companies, therefore business leaders cannot afford to regard it as anything less than paramount. In order to ‘raise the bar’ in the customer service arena companies need to work to a single plan, abandoning the silo approach to dealing with business needs and moving away from the traditional supplier relationship. At this Criticaleye Lunch, David Turner, CEO of HEROtsc, a Scottish born company which now has a presence in a number of international markets, will share what measures he has taken in order to change from an outsource provider to an outsource partner.
10 September 2010 - 12:00 - 14:30
